Privacy & data
How this website handles information. Last updated 2026.
Who we are
The site is operated by the GxU Lab (Green × Urban) at George Mason University Korea. For questions about this policy, use the contact page.
Public pages
Most of the site is informational. We do not require accounts to read research, team, or publication pages.
Admin sign-in
Lab administrators may sign in at /login using Firebase Authentication (email and password). Credentials are processed by Google’s Firebase services. We use this only for a small set of maintainers listed in server configuration.
Session cookies
After you sign in, the site may set a session cookie so your browser stays logged in until you log out or the session expires. That cookie is not used for advertising.
Analytics
If enabled, we may use a privacy-oriented analytics tool (such as Plausible or Fathom) to aggregate page views without cross-site tracking. No analytics scripts run unless configured in the server environment.
Embedded content
The contact page may embed a map from Google Maps. Loading that map can cause Google to receive technical data (such as IP address) under Google’s policies.
Inventory & QR flows
Public check-in and check-out pages may record asset IDs and identifiers you submit for lab operations. Those submissions are stored in our backend systems for inventory management.
Changes
We may update this page when our practices or tools change. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised description.
